Annie the artichoke was green and lovely
Annie the artichoke was sad and blue
Alone on the shelf in the greengrocer’s store
She’s sending this message to you
Please lift me down and take me home
Cook me up in a stew
I’m full of all kinds of delicious things
I’m so -so good for you
I know you’ll like me if you give me a try
I taste so delicious and sweet
I don’t look as good as the others I know
But I’m really a treat to eat.

Now remember this most ugly (keep in mind, beauty is in the eye of the beholder) is Mother Nature’s wonderful remedy for indigestion – you’ve got, somehow, to put that in your poem
