I attended a poetry course at The Writing Centre in Lisburn toady and thoroughly enjoyed it. Below are my poems written at the session:
HAIKU (1)
His smile so sultry
Redness coats his luscious lips
Prince of Darkness comes
HAIKU (2)
Two together forever
Joined in womb of maternal love
They form a twosome
HAIKU (3)
Bright eyes, sweetest smile
Ancient heart does break once more
As she leaves me lonely
LIMERICK
There once was a girl called Molly
Who was so very jolly
She could jump so high
Right up to the sky
And didn’t drop her ice lolly
LIMERICK (2)
There was an elderly lady
Who used to do everything shady
She got her comeuppance
From stealing tuppence
And now she’s a convicted old lady
LIMERICK (3)
There was a young fellow named Jack
Who ran to the shop and back
He wanted to buy
A lemon cream pie
He came back with a pack
ACROSTIC POEM
Keep beside me Honey
Every single day
Ease my sometimes loneliness
Love me as you may
Each precious hug and smile
You are my beautiful child
NOW THIS LAST ONE IS SUPPOSED TO BE IN THE SHAPE OF A GUITAR!! (Musicians please forgive me) CALLED CONCRETE POETRY
I tried
My best
And all
the rest
To learn to play guitar
I have to say it’s very sore
My fingers hurt and more
I have to know a song or so
Before July next year
I don’t think I can do it
I’m really going to it
Or maybe so I’ll give it a go
I think I stink! So what!!
I tried and died!
Was great working with you today. Glad you had fun.
