I would like in my stocking on Christmas night
A bike and a book and a biscuit to bite
A bike that is blue with wheels and things
A book about heroes and giants and kings
A biscuit that’s yummy with cream and stuff
Just one, mind you, that’s quite enough!
Leave your sleigh at my garden gate
Tell Rudolph and Co to lie down and wait
Tell them you’re giving presents to Jack
You won’t be long, you’ll be right back
With juicy big carrots and water so sweet
And cookies for after as a Christmas treat
Don’t wake Mum and Dad, they’re fast asleep
Up the stairs to my bedroom you’ll creep
On tippy toes with your big red sack
Full of goodies for Little Jack
I’m only six weeks old and small
I’m hardly seen in the cot at all
But when you hear a baby snore
You’ll be right outside my bedroom door
Please give nice presents to Mum and Dad
This will be the best Christmas that they ever had
It took me quite a while to arrive on this earth
Such joy and love on the day of my birth
So Santa be good and kind and jolly
To me and my cousins Keeley and Molly!

 

“Daddy,” said Keeley, “is it really true

That Christmas trees grow in the wood

Ours always came

Wrapped in cellophane

The way that a Christmas tree should.”

 

“Daddy,” said Keeley, is it really true

You can get a real Christmas tree

That grows in the ground

With more trees all around

Can you get one for Molly and me?”

“Daddy,” said Keeley, does it have a nice smell

With branches all spiky and green

Do we make sure and feed it

Whenever it needs it

Make sure that its pot is all clean.

 

So now in the corner of No. 3

Stands a beautiful Christmas sight

The way it should be

A real Christmas tree

Glitters and shines in the night.

 

Santa saw it at the North Pole

He smiled and laughed with joy

That wonderful gleam

Will fulfil every dream

Of each little girl and boy

 

“Daddy”, said Keeley as she lay in her bed

Snug and warm on Christmas night

“Santa will know now

Which way to go now

Our tree’s going to guide him right!”

 

 

 

 

The sun went in, time to begin

The midnight revelry

Strange shapes and sizes in hideous disguises

Were quite a sight to see

 

 

Spooky Sue round the room flew

Gertie Ghost made Melba toast

Which gave Martha Mummy pains in her tummy

Cause she had eaten the most

 

 

Now Werewolf Willy was acting silly

Frankie Stein drank the bumblebee wine

Wicked Witch of the North made up a fourth

As they all sat down to dine

 

 

Vampire Vince added a pinch

of garlic in the stew

Gave it to Drac who had an attack

Started choking and turning blue

 

 

Bill and Ben the headless men

Rested their chins on the table

They tried to feed with undue speed

As well as they were able

 

 

Zombie Zack leaned right back

and toppled off the chair

His eyes fell out, he gave a shout

“I can’t see them anywhere”

 

Sophie Sprite she danced all night

King Kong burst into song

Chucky got lucky and went home with Pat

Whose face just looked all wrong

 

 

As the light grew bright and threw out the night

Our dinner guests cleared the room

The dishes were done in the black cauldron

Floor swept by the ghostly broom

But Jack,  Kel and Mo

Would love to know

Why Splat the Cat looks scared

He hissed and spat at they don’t know what

And his little claws are bared

 

 

They didn’t know and rightly so

How their home is used at night

For ghosts and ghouls with spooky rules

Would give them such a fright!
