KEELEY!!!!!!

GetAttachment2.jpgKeeley you’re gorgeous

You’re our pride and joy

You were put on this earth

For us to enjoy

Your skin’s really glowing

Your eyes wide and bright

You’ve got my attention

Morning, Noon and Night

Your giggle’s infectious

Your smile is sublime

Call my name, I’ll be there

Anywhere, anytime

A Granny’s not something I thought of as me

A Granny’s not something I wanted to be

But you’ve turned me around, my little Princess

A Granny to you. Oh, yes, ,yes!

I’m proud to be pushing your pram near and far                               GetAttachment1.jpg

I’m proud of your permanent seat in my car

Those outstretched arms are a sight to behold

That cheeky wee grin a big crock of gold

Oh Lord! I’m a Granny!

Didn’t think I’d feel like this!

Ach! Come over, me Darlin’ give old Gran a kiss!

FIRST

I thought you would age me

I would grow old instantly

Nevermore be known by my given name alone                                         GetAttachment (5)

Always a title before me

Torn between joy and melting time

On the threshold of a new experience

I am going to adopt that ancient name

Of support hose, bifocals and love.

In that first instant we eyed each other

I was destined for defeat

You captured myself, my heart, all of me

I sank into your well-being of happiness

Call me Granny, call me Nanny

Call me any time of day

You didn’t age me, Keeley

You took my breath away.

KEELEY GETS HER WINGS

200px-Waybuloo-piplings(31st March is the 10th birthday of my beautiful granddaughter Keeley. She is growing up so fast and I love her dearly.)

“Now that’s a little tricky,” said Keeley

As the fairies soared into the sky

I can spin and jump and more

But when I try

To start to fly

I fall back down on the floor

Do you think it’s because I’m four?

I can dress myself in the morning

Even choose what to wear

I can turn on our TV

And open our big front door

But when I try

To start to fly

I land back down on the floor

Do you think it’s because I’m four?

I can bounce on my trampoline

And ride my bike anywhere

I can swim like a little fish

Play house with my favourite bear

But when I try

To start to fly

I bump back down on the floor

Do you think it’s because I’m four?

Soon I’ll grow and grow and grow

It will be time for me to soar

Up into the sky

Ever so high

No more bumps upon the floor

Time to open up my wings

Time to do exciting things

I won’t be four anymore!!
