HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY HANDSOME BIG GRANDSON JACK WHO IS SEVEN TODAY! LOVE YOU LOADS LITTLE MAN!

NANNY

XXXXX

OOOOO

THE CHOICE

Jack stood in his room and he pondered, he pondered and pondered and wondered

Which one of these costumes for Halloween would he wear

Would it be Superman, Batman or the one like a spider

He’d ask his Dad to be the decider                                                                   52125759-illustration-of-cartoon-boy-thinking.jpg

He really liked Ninjas and he really liked Dinos

He really liked bears, snakes, tigers and rhinos

He loved Power Rangers all rarin’ to go

He wouldn’t miss their daily show

How about a vampire or even a ghost

Which one would scare his friends the most

How about a zombie or a monster with claws

How about The Gruffalo with big pointy paws

So Jack stood in his room with his hand on his head

“Perhaps I’ll ask Mummy and Daddy instead

I’m not Five until Monday after all

I’ll pick my own costume when I’m big and tall.”

“I know, Nanny

That Halloween is near

I should dress as a cat

Or a big black bat

But silvery rings

And bright coloured wings

A long dress of gold

A wand to hold

Shiny crown

That matches my gown

Sheer white mittens

With embroidered kittens

Heeled slippers brand new

Every colour and hue

Nanny that’s really what I’d like to do.”

Sez I with a smile

“My beautiful child

The choice is completely yours

No creepy cat

Or big black bat

No witch with a broom

In a scary room

No ghost, goblin or scary clown

No Frankenstein with furrowed frown

Just a beautiful girl

With a cheeky wee grin

Who suits very well the costume she’s in.”
