I saw a little boy today
Aged about three and a half
He had the most infectious smile
And a childish little laugh
I saw a little girl today
Aged about the same
She said Hello and waved at me
Kelly was her name
Standing close together
They resembled one another
Same age, same height, same impish grin
I think they were sister and brother
Twins would be a better word
Such a beautiful sight to see
This handsome little couple
Dressed very similarly
They looked at me in puzzlement
Ties binding they can’t understand
They know there’s something about this lady
As they wander off hand in hand.
I watch them go and wonder when
I’ll ever see their like again
