Go on! Have another! They’re yummy! Just try it!

Adults despair

As they pull out their hair

And  reach in their pockets to buy it!

 

They are all for the kids, I won’t have a bite

As i creep downstairs in the dead of night

i’ll just open one

And then that one’s gone

The next one’s just there in plain sight!

 

Daylight dawns and I’ve fallen asleep

Coloured boxes and paper all in a heap

Choc covered lips, face is a mess

Gooey cream on my nightdress

With heavy heart upstairs I creep

 

The alarm clock rings, I slowly awake

With a pounding head and a tummy ache

How I hate this time of year

When chocolate eggs in shops appear

I’m a chocaholic, for goodness sake.

 

Time for a change, take each day as it comes

Change your diet to apples and plums

Back to the gym, get on that bike

Walking boots for a healthy hike

A class booked for Bums and Tums

 

But yeah I’ll do all that tomorrow

Loosing the ponds will be such Sweet Sorrow

But wait! I think there’s an egg on the shelf

Feeling forlorn all by itself
