I’m travelling along
Singing my song
No worries on my mind
I hear the Screeeeeam!
Of a police siren
Someone’s crossed the line

But I’m okay, I’ve checked my speed
Three points on my licence I don’t need
Now 32 in a 30 zone
Sure won’t make those blue boys moan

But here what’s this he’s waving at me
“Pull over” he shouts, does he not see
I’m only doing 30 , well 32, maybe three
Go away stop picking on me

So just beware
All you out there
They don’t have to be there
They just have to see there
On their sneaky, secret snaps

So check your speed on all route maps
Don’t get caught by the ghostly ghouls
Don’t let them flaunt their highway rules
It’ll cost you dear, three points, sixty quid
Or you can ‘fes just what you did
Go to the class to learn to drive?
Listen to the man keeping you alive
At least you’ll escape police condescension
You’ll be the expert on speed prevention
No blotted licence, no insurance hike
Better still, get on your bike!
But a wee postscript I’m adding to this rhyme
It weren’t all bad doing my time
If you get a chance go to this class
It’ll change your mind about driving fast
Here’s a point I’d like to make
This speeding class you’ll have to take
Point number two you’ll be totally shocked
To learn the truth, my world was rocked
At 32 in a 30 zone
Whether or not you’re on your phone
You will not stop in time my friend
You’ll hit that child, your life will end
That’s point number three
Every speed limit sign you see
The were all put up in memory
To those who died, for every name
A driver holds his head in shame
So don’t speed
There’s no need
Just cruise along singing your song
With not a worry on your mind.
Great title, zippy read
